Fast Talk Debate Speech
Les Lynn, founding director of the Chicago Debate League and the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues, debated Chicago Tribune columnist Eric Zorn on whether "fast talk" in competitive academic debate undermines its value. This is Les Lynn's opening statement, arguing that "fast talk" debate is of substantial academic value.

Scene from John McNaughton's "Mad Dog and Glory" (1993), featuring Robert DeNiro and Uma Thurman. Uma's character, Glory, is sent as a "thank you present" from Bill Murray's small-time mobster Frank Milo to Robert DeNior's Frank "Mad Dog" Dobie. In this scene, Mad Dog and Glory "consummate" their budding, genuine relationship.

Stephen Frears' 2000 adaptation of Nick Hornsby's novel of the same name, "High Fidelity." This early scene takes place in Chicago's Wicker Park, at John Cusack's low-rent record store, where he employs Jack Black and Todd Louiso, two huge music afficianados (but not much else).

Clip from Charles Laughton's 1955 classic flim "The Night of the Hunter". Widow Willa Harper (Shelley Winters) has just married serial killer and phony preacher Harry Powell (Robert Mitchum). Mitchum deploys a kind of Christian fundamentalism to void their marriage from the outset of any physicality.

Scene from Michael Ritchie's 1976 "Bad News Bears." Coach Buttermaker plays all the subs in the end of the championship game, realizing that he'd become too competitive.
I didn't like the movie but the rescue scene is kinda epic.
Great movie . It's like this in Toronto. The Koreans store owners . 😂
Albert spoofed reality programming 20 years before it even existed. A brilliant, visionary satire.

At this point he was Redmond Barry.

They have a good business because they didn't spend that one year sitting on a sidewalk playing dice for crack.

Spike Lee's best movie!!🔥🔥
Try to count all the candles before the scene ends.😂
I never knew the name of this movie but saw it once years ago. I just remember the young guy going up to the two old curmudgeons and asking them to boycott the pizza parlour. One of them tells him to boycott his barber instead or something. I almost died laughing. Thanks for posting this. I will definitely watch the whole movie if I can find it online.
That is crazy that actor played English in escape from Alcatraz was in this movie and by the looks of it I thought he looked older in that movie and it came out 10 years earlier before this one he looks good for 54 or 53 damn
Sitting around feeling sorry for yourselves. Couldn't tell if this was 1989 or 2024.
One of my favorite scene of this great movie !
Fake Al Jazeera, why don't you talk about how egypt is blocking the aid?

Just look at IQ distribution for your answer. It’s plain as day.
Just look at IQ distribution and human evolution for your answer. It’s plain as day.
His wife actually did to him what Barry later did to her.
I love how this scene sorta mirrors the scene in Burning Mississippi where Gene Hackman describes how his father was jealous of a successful Black man for having a mule and it resulted in the mule being killed via poisoned water. Just because someone else was lucky and that he was so full of hate he didn't realize it was being poor that was killing him.
Fuck out my way, it's miller time!
This movie had so many great scenes. It was a gem of a movie.
0:45 guy in the middle realizes he's staring into the camera and looks away
Hey Kung-Fu! Classic Robin Harris. LOL
Spike Lee did an Masterful job of this Film.
this one scene encapsulates the whole movie for me.
One of my favorite movies of all time. I lived in New York from 83 to 90. What's the music here? Love it
“Let it be broke, mutha fucka!”……..genius line and delivery!
Can you dig it?

Too damn old to be arguing. Either take action and start your own business or stfu you sidewalk sitting having nothing to do in the middle of the day besides yelling and getting angry over something another person is doing
Best film of the 80s

I dont advise a haircut...and ...This is the reason bald headed men are uptight... Delivered by a bald actor in a wig... Just great subtle fourth wall kick down without spelling it out.
Frankie Faison is a living legend and the only one out of the three guys still alive to this day. Give this guy his flowers and love while he’s still alive. He played the Waynes brothers chief in White Chicks. Robin Harris would’ve had a big movie career if he didn’t die so young.
"Very, _very_ foolish words, mate..."
